The “lens” we see through makes a big difference to our mental health. If you’re grateful people will appreciate your presence more & there is a better chance that the people around you will want to be more helpful.
You’ll notice things will gravitate towards positivity; because you’re practicing and strengthening your recognition of it.
These adjustments have a ripple effect that build up our self esteem, improve our relationships and even help our mood.
Here are just a couple of quotes that capture the essence of gratitude:
“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”
Wayne Dyer
“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.”
Maya Angelou
“When we are no longer able to change a situation – we are challenged to change ourselves.”
Viktor E. Frankl
“Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.”
George Bernard Shaw
This is just a basic visual of how our thoughts can change our behaviors.
This picture is based on the cognitive behavioral therapy model; it’s used to treat a lot of mental health diagnoses.

There are some personality characteristics or even personality disorders that have a tendency to hang out in a more negative mindset.
Whether you just have a bad habit of being ungrateful or have been diagnosed with a personality disorder; there are things within your power to improve your outlook (which will improve your life).
Refrain from believing that you are inherently doomed with negativity.
Basic negativity & full blown personality disorders are very much about thought patterns. If you’ve been diagnosed with one it’s worth taking a close look at how you think.
I listed some personality disorders below that can benefit the most from practicing gratitude.
Cluster B personality disorders are usually driven by a negative self image. Because of this, practicing gratitude can really help their thought patterns; which heavily influence their feelings, emotions & behaviors.
You can read more about each of them below
